Heavy Cruiser Prinz Eugen, 1942

The Prinz Eugen deck and lines plans recreates the famous German cruiser from WWII. We used original drawings from 1942, the ship's design manuals, and many photos to bring the Prinz Eugen to life in highly detailed 1:1 scale CAD drawings which depict the ship as she appeared in the fall of 1942 while undergoing repair and refit in Germany after her stern had been extensively damaged by a torpedo.

The plans allow you to explore the areas on the Batteriedeck, such as the individual officer cabins and the seamen eating and sleeping areas. On the Zwischendeck, you can trace routes through the crew living spaces, follow the path of the overhead ammunition transfer rail, and explore the workshop and repair facilities which are vital to keeping the ship operational while at sea. Beneath the Panzerdeck, you can see the 20.3 CM powder magazine rooms, the 10.5 CM ammunition rooms, anti-aircraft ammunition storage, machinery rooms, and other switch and control compartments to keep the ship operational. For modelers, the lines plans will be indispensable for creating highly accurate models.

Body and Framing Plan

Prinz Eugen body plan includes the stations -0.5, -0.25, 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 4 through 17, 18, 18.5, 19, 19.25, 19.5, 19.75, and 20.

When ordering the 1:200 or the 1:250 scale plans, the body plan is printed at 1:100 scale; for the 1:300 scale plan, the body plan is printed at 1:200 scale.

Sheer Plan

Prinz Eugen sheer plan includes the buttock curves for the stations 0, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.

Half-Breadth Plan

Prinz Eugen half-breadth plan includes the waterlines for 1, 2, 3 through 17, 18, 19, and 20.

Purchasing Plans

All orders include both the deck and lines plans with the file sizes for each scale rounded to the nearest 1/8” shown in the tables below. We offer three separate plan scales, plus an option for any desired plan size. The smallest plan at 1:300 scale may require a magnifier to view all details and is an excellent size for display; the largest plan at 1:200 scale really brings the details to life but does require a much larger viewing surface. The 1:250 scale is a nice, medium plan size.

Note that we only sell paper copies of our plans; no pdf files are offered.
